1. The League, established in October 1912.

  1. The League holds Certificate No. CIT (E) / 80G /1062 / 2015-16 dated 12.05.2015, validity period from A.Y.2015-16 onwards.
  1. It is administered by a Managing Committee consisting of duly elected Trustees and Members. Most of them are qualified individuals and Senior Citizens, with considerable experience in academic and professional fields.
  1. The Committee Members render honorary service handling day to day work themselves.
  1. Free office space is given by THE GOKARN PARTHAGALI JEEVOTTAM MUTT , in the SHREE RAM MANDIR complex at Wadala, Mumbai.
  1. The League has a CORPUS consisting of Endowments Funds. These funds are invested approved long term securities.
  1. Income of the League consists of (a) interest on investments and (b) donations The entire income is earmarked for disbursement as free scholarship during the same year after meeting expenses. With each year’s endowments invested in securities, there is a steady growth in the Corpus, with a corresponding increase in the interest income annually. Thus the League is able to keep a steady growth in the annual disbursement.    
  1. Free scholarship disbursed among the students of Saraswat community from school to graduate level studies any where in India. Girl student is given preferential treatment in granting assistance.
  1. THE EXPENSE RATIO IS AROUND 5 PERCENT OF THE GROSS ANNUAL INCOME.
  1. The accounts are audited by a Chartered Accountant every year.
  1. All statutory obligations are being complied with regularly and in time..
  1. The League has completed 104 years in 2016, strong and energetic, to continue its mission with greater vigour.
  1. During the academic year 2015-16, the disbursement of freeship is Rs 61 lacs, with Rs 1,000 as minimum amount per student at school level. Among 4596 beneficiaries, 2489 were girl students It is planned to disburse Rs 65 lacs during the current year 2016-17
