1. Resource mobilisation:

During the past 15 years, the Managing Committee has been keeping for itself an informal annual target of collection of endowments and donations and constantly keeping track of the actual against the target each year. Generally this target has been exceeded.

2. Scaling up of disbursement:

However, grant of this scaled up amount is regrettably meagre as it meets only a fraction of the actual needs of students. And yet the League’s support is an encouragement  to those needy students to push further their attempt in pursuit of higher education to improve the quality of life and become responsible members of the society.

3. Creating  awareness about The League:

The awareness of the Scholarship League among general public has been all these years very low because of its low profile. Only the members and donors know about the extent of the activities of the League. It is in this direction that the Managing Committee has realized the need to spread the word about the League and its activities not only across the country but also beyond its shores where many of our community reside.  

3.1  Print media:

This campaign to reach out has commenced two years ago, in the form of written communications to the individuals whose addresses are with the League. It is planned to reach out to those spread all over the globe through this website contact, more through the print media, with the help of informed and enlightened  members of the press by a "write up" on the League’s activities. This media approach will include major dailies in English, Marathi, Kannada, Konkani and other languages. This effort will hopefully spread awareness  of the League, its social objective, present activities and most important, its ambitious target of yearly disbursement  of Rs.50 lakhs(Rs.5 million) free scholarships to the needy and deserving students in schools and colleges in India. It is felt that the help from the media will have the desired results, thus contributing towards the noble  objective of empowering the youth through education.
